Hey Josh, Thanks for the suggestion!
What other capabillities would you specifically like to see added to the EXPORT feature? We already support exporting to Microsoft Word, HTML, and EPUB. And within those options, you can configure the way the table of contents is generated, how chapter headings are rendered, etc...
You can read more about the current capabilities here:
https://blog.shaxpir.com/the-payoff-publishing-to-epub-from-shaxpir-fa09860f420d
So, beyond what we're currently doing, what else would you like to see included in the EXPORT tool?

You can drag any photo from the grid into any other position, including the top position, where it will be enlarged to fill the column width. If it isn't working for you, try dragging the thumbnail up closer to the top of the column.

Interesting idea. I like it :)
There will be some major upgrades to comments in the medium term (probably in the next 3 to 6 months), and something like this will definitely be a part of that upgrade.

Absolutely. This is already in the plan.

This is a very important feature for me, so I definitely plan on building it. When I published my first book, I did all my own formatting using Adobe InDesign, and it was a huge hassle.
I'd eventually like Shaxpir to do all the nasty work of preparing a print-ready PDF, especially for indie publishers printing with CreateSpace.

Would you mind elaborating on the kinds of things you'd like to annotate with color?
I'd prefer to provide a mechanism for semantic annotations (e.g., this paragraph is a FIRST-DRAFT, or that sentence is a NEEDS-REWRITE). Then, when you're doing a revision pass on your story, you could choose to view all the FIRST-DRAFT sections in red while hiding all the other annotations.
The colors aren't meaningful, in and of themselves, so I'd rather open up a discussion about *how* you use color during your writing process.

I agree. Making the panels resizable is definitely on my TODO list.

This is definitely on the roadmap. I've done some experimenting with NOTES templates (character, place, concept, etc) but haven't quite hit on a design I really like. I'll keep working on it though :)

Absolutely. Mind-mapping is just one of many possible ways that we can visualize the overall network of connections for a particular story (or maybe even for multiple stories in a series).

This is a very important feature to me, and it's one of the reasons the 1.0 beta version doesn't ship with a spell-check function. Spell-checking in fiction is different than spell-checking in business documents, and I want to build a spell-checker that's specifically tailored to the needs of fiction authors.

This is definitely on the long-term roadmap.
Right now, there's only a desktop app, but eventually we'd like to have apps for desktop, web, and mobile.

Hi Kayla! Thanks for your feedback!
The word count for the current chapter is in the upper-right corner of the current chapter view. And the total word count for the entire book (not including the notes in your notebook) is at the top of the main navigation (in the upper-left) when you're viewing a book.
Does that make sense? Is that what you're looking for?
