Connections should be "two way"
If I select item A and then add a connection to item B, the connection will show while I have item A selected. However, if I then select item B, there is no connection showing, which is not the case. By definition, if item A is connected to B, then B is connected to A.
If I select item B, and subsequently connect it to C, the A and C should show one connection each. However, item B should show two connections....one to A, and one to C.
To do otherwise could cause the author to miss an important connection while working on B, something that affects A.

This bugs me as well. I can understand the logic in that B might not be actively aware of the connection with A or similar situations. They still have a connection in my mind and are bound to affect each other in one way or another. I can imagine this becoming a problem especially with foreshadowing, where a stray remark by a character can actually be important for something much later in the story. I don't know about others, but I need to work hard to remember all clues I need to drop into the text. Two-way connections would help keeping track of those.
